Ding Tea, Pantai Indah Kapuk

I've posted so many posts related to Pantai Indah Kapuk, but don't blame me because there indeed are a lot of great places to have your bubble drinks, your meal, beverages and desserts while chilling by yourself or with your loved ones, PIK actually reminds me of cafes in Clarke Quay or ones I watched in American Movies, Beverly Hills like.

If you're not aware with this brand, let me introduce you to one of the best bubble drink I've ever tasted, I think it's probably the newest one in PIK, Ding Tea!

As usual, let me take you to surf the venue.
Ding Tea is located in Pantai Indah Kapuk, to be exact, the Rukan Garden House Blok A, exactly across Ikkudo Ichi, you'see this this sign, brake your vehicles and sip.
INTERIORS
They don't have a large venue, enough for 20 maybe but there are seats in front for maybe another 16, but in general, Bubble Tea venues are not always big, it's because some costumers prefer to take away their drinks or if they choose to stay, it won't take so long, I find the venue to be pretty comfy, I always always check the toilets of wherever restaurants I'm visiting because I care about hygiene, and this one is also nice, but I don't always take pictures of the closet, what for.

I ordered the original bubble tea with oolong (black tea) as the main tea, that's how I judge the taste because I always stay with the original but somehow each and every bubble tea has their unique touch of the originals, either it's a little or a lot of differences, I will always stick with the originals first, then their specials..
and how do I respond?

YUMSTER! The word 'yumster' is like a signature word for this blog, use it a lot of times and sorry if it annoys you LOL. I feel like this is probably one of the best bubble milk teas that I've ever tasted, I LOVE the pearls they're sweet like maybe mixed with honey during the cooking process and the milk tea is light, the milk doesn't really take over the whole ideal milk tea (my personal taste), LOVE it!

Of course you need to try it guys :).

OOOOYEAAH!
Don't forget because tomorrow is their last day of promotion, you'll only have to pay the second cup 50% OFF whenever you purchase a cup of all drinks, valid for 1 transaction.

Trust me, you can hold my words, their bubble teas are so nice.
and oh yeah, there is also another drink purchased, it's the green tea milk with egg pudding, but sadly when I'm about to take the photos of it, my friend broke the cover and sip it about one third of it, doesn't look too good for photos anymore, sorry for that, but I gotta tell you it also tasted so good. Worth your time and money to try these.

I'm working on my research of the top 5 best bubble drinks I've ever tasted, I already listed almost 20 brands of bubble teas, I'm judging from the original bubble tea (yes, the good old classic) and to be honest, after I acknowledge this brand, I think I need to update my list.

Many of you have been leaving comments asking me how to take decent food pictures, maybe one day I'll make a blogpost related to your questions and I'll probably giving you a tutorial for it. Look guys! How much I love you all, I'm spoiling my dirty little secret hahaha!

B-Side Wakai Cafe

B-Side Wakai Cafe is another still-fresh newcomer in Plaza Indonesia (been there since October) and from the moment I looked at the cafe, I fell in love with the interior, maybe another reason is because when you walk and pass by Wakai shoes store (which happened to locate exactly beside B-Side Wakai Cafe) you'll experience this strong scent which reminds me of traditional chinese ancient...Nevermind, I still like the scent tho.

No joking that I love the interior, it's not a big cafe, but inside you'll find a slightly neat urban like interior, completed with wooden furniture, imitation trees and again, the scent.

I'll take you to have a little tour of the interior.

LOVE!

What do you guys think? I just feel like this is a perfect space for me when I want to do my business, just me in front of my laptop completed with good food they served here, well...are they really "good" gooodddd? I'm going to give my review based on two recommended menus from this restaurant, and they are...

Nutella Baked Mochi
IDR 25.000
I don't want to say that I'm disappointed with this dish, it's just they're not like what I've expected, when I heard of the word "baked", I imagined that it would be served fresh from the oven, searing hot that when I try to open it I'll see beautiful smoke flowing out, but sadly, I didn't experience one, it's just cold and it doesn't have that sticky mochi texture that I've been fantasizing about, Nutella Baked Mini Pao will be a better title for this dish, and that's when I can consider it good, the thing that saves the most is obviously the chocolate, lovin it!

Nutella Ninja Crepes
IDR 28.000

Nutella back to back! but this one I gotta give a plus point, I love the yummy moist chocolate crepe used for this dish, it's just delicious! Instead of using ice cream, they use a huge amount of whipped cream as the filler (to be honest I think two scoops of vanilla ice cream will be good),  I've always been a fan of chocolate and banana together, they're just sometimes meant to be together, so in this case, this dish is a success. Thank the holy chocolate syrup as the garnish, yumster to the total.

The ambience is another plus point of this restaurant, when you're tired of accompanying your loved one looking at the slightly trending Wakai shoes, this is a place for you to relax, take your moment to enjoy nice desserts here, it's a cool place to visit.

Dessert Company, Pantai Indah Kapuk.

This time I'm going to make a post about one very good place to have your desserts, I noticed that Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) is very lack of good places to have your desserts, maybe some of them have desserts but it's not fully concentrated on desserts so I wasn't really moved. Luckily this place called "Dessert Company" joined the list of the awesome PIK foodwalk.

I love the ambience of the place, it's like modern, retro, minimalist but cozy at the same time, still proper for people to enjoy their desserts.

Let me take you to the indoor session of the venue. I honestly prefer eating inside because it's more cozy and well air conditioned, but for this visit, I sat in front because my sister wants to sit at the board swing, but it doesn't matter, it's your choice to sit wherever you want to.

The black and yellow colors just match and I do love the branding, I am so impressed by the fact that most restaurants in PIK has very good branding, and that obviously means great competition because all is competing to win our hearts.

Let me take you outdoor, this is where I sat during my visit, it's not bad to be outside, but I just like the cooler atmosphere, especially during the day when it tends to get very hot.

Hands down for the toilet, love it.

Okay, enough with the venue, I know you've been craving about the food and beverages that I was having because some of my readers who happen to follow my instagram have been questioning me about the location of the sneekpeeks, I uploaded a photo of the yummy chocolate lava and creme brulee.

BEVERAGES
Iced Lemon Tea
IDR 12.000 (+tax)
This is obviously one of the drinks that I recommend you to have here during your visit, especially if you're really having the desserts, maybe some of you will be questioning: "why a glass of regular iced lemon tea?", "it's just a lemon tea?!", well I would say the desserts here are very sweet, both look and the taste, what's a sour beverage with a little attutide? just awesome. The lemon tea is fresh, mostly common but the tea's a bit stronger but the sweetness and sour just a click.

Cherry Kiss
IDR 22.000 (+tax)
This is my choice of drink, I love cherries and this just matches me, and I also want a touch of sourness in my drink so this gives you a little glimpse of it, but technically it's soda with red syrup and cherries.

Watermelon Sunset
IDR 22.000 (+tax)
If you are a fan of watermelon then you'll probably love this drink, it has a medium level of sweetness, but you can obviously feel the watermelon, that's crucial because sometimes when you order a drink but mostly just water and syrup and it's lost the concept of the original ingredients, but this one worths the try ;).

Archipelago Banana Milk
IDR 22.000 (+tax)
Probably the best I've had here, but obviously you'll love it if you love bananas too, I think this is just fresh, rich in bananas and milk...almost creamy like, but it didn't end up making me feel noxious so it means a good thing. This is also the recommended beverage from this restaurant and me too recommends this to you.

DC Island
IDR 30.000 (+tax)
Technicaly, the name of this drink if the softer way to say "soda with one scoop of vanilla ice cream on top of it.", I wonder why this beverage is the most expensive of all. I was expecting something else fancier and more surprising.

FOOD

Cowboy Potato Wedges
IDR 18.000 (+tax)
Best deal ever, aside from the disappointed I had from DC island, this totally cures everything, for IDR 18.000+ you get a pretty generous portion of potato wedges, I would say this is homemade, because if you have it for your own, it doesn't look like the common potatoo wedges, well it doesn't look as good as the market potato wedges, but the taste is obviously a total kappow!

Southern Style Chicken Pop
IDR 25.000 (+tax)
I also love this one, but when I hear of "pop" I imagined a dish with smaller cuts and more finger bites like, but maybe it's just how DC deals with it, the taste is gooooood, it's well-seasoned and also worth your try.

Ma Ma Mia Kalamari
IDR 30.000 (+tax)
Yes it's written with a K, and this dish is also OK, this photo below is the presentation and the exact amount of the calamari, I think it's just nicer to have more because it tastes so good that you can't have only a little.

DC Choco Lava Cake
IDR 32.000 (+tax)
LOVE THIS ONE! This is obviously the recommended menu from this restaurant, and I give my thumbs up for the unique presentation, if you look carefully at the bottom surface, a thin pallete of (I don't know what is it), it's rock like but it's marmer like, and it's on a black color. It's just adorable. How about the taste? Well I love the moment when I use my spoon to break the surface and you see the awesome smoke coming out the glass, it's truly a chocolate lava, the texture is creamy and the taste is probably a little too sweet, but I'm still going to put this as my top recommendation menu. By the way, I love the ice-cream :). Yumster!

Creme Brulee
IDR 25.000 (+tax)
Oh My God! I just love this creme brulee! Yes with another impressive presentation, simple but classy expensive, and DC knows best that people's sense of taste might be different, some like sweet thing, some like it sweeter, or less, thanks for the awesome lime side dessert you'll be having everytime you're ordering this awesome creme brulee. It's creamy, soft, and just fabolous yumster. I want you to have this too guys :).

I also had their pannacota but sadly, my camera was running out of battery and I just don't want to ruin this beautiful post by posting a bad quality picture from my phone camera, technically it's not that bad but it's just not as good these above, but if you follow my Instagram and Facebook, you'll obviously find it because I uploaded it there <3. Pannacotta = IDR 25.000 (+tax)

We spent around IDR 330.300 after tax (final), good deal as you can see how much I've had right :). I personally think this is obviously a great place where you can have affordable desserts, enjoy your moments with your loved ones, also a nice place to work on your projects or whatever you want to do. Make sure to visit and try my recommended menus. Thanks a lot guys! Have a great lovely desserts!

Brunch and Food Tasting at BonChon: Blogger Gathering (16/02/2013)

Hello my lovely readers, welcome to another post on eatandtreats :).

This time I'm going to blog about the brunch and food blogger gathering held by BonChon Indonesia last Wednesday As you all know (and those who don't), BonChon is a korean themed restaurant and their main product is chicken, they're so famous for their chicken bites and fried chickens, but let me tell you upfront, their fried chickens are not your average fried chickens or probably close to what you have in mind...right now.

The purpose of this brunch is for BonChon to pre-promote their new menu which will be available on March. They're going to come up with their new invention, what's that? Here it is!

YES! It's the MYUN, they're going to release the MYUN series on March and we got the exclusive chance to pre-tasting the food. Thank you, BonChon.

I love this kind of gathering, and this is actually my very first time attending a food blogger gathering, I got some invitations to attend food blogger gathering but sadly and unfortunately I have to turn them down because it's just not on a good timing, the last time I think because I was in the middle of my final exam :(, so yeah...I need to choose.

BonChon emailed me and actually asked me to fill out a form attached, it was the menu for the brunch and obviously I'm going to show you guys what I had in a moment. That day I got accompanied by my lovely sister Vania, because later that afternoon I'm going to have a reunion with my high school fellas, and that meeting actually allows me to have posts for you guys :), just be patient and wait for the reviews :).

Let's start off with a glass of fresh iced lemon tea.
Well, I'm pretty sure you know what iced lemon tea tastes like, but let's just be fair, I'm still going to talk about it, I think their lemon tea has a decent taste, I prefer lemon teas which is a little more sour and don't taste cheap.

Kim Chi Soup.
The advantage of bringing your sister with you is you're not stuck on your choices, most of the choices are two optionals, so we just tick the boxes and choose everything, so this is the Kim Chi Soup, it's obviously sour and spicy because Kim Chi tastes that way, I actually kinda like this soup, it's unique and it does bring and adapt the sense of korea based on the concept of the restaurant.

Chicken Soup
Chicken soup is more general, general as in a lot of restaurant have adapted this food on their menus, but how's with BonChon's? Well, I personally think that the soup is a little salty, but my sister said it was ok, yeah we have different tounges and sometimes we do argue on the taste. I love the blocks of the chicken, it's tasty. If you ask me whether to choose the kimchi or the chicken soup, I think I would more recommend you guys to pick the chicken soup, I just think that it's more how I like it, when it comes to the main course, as in the myuns, I would say this starter fits the main course.

MAIN COURSE
Classic Myun
We're finally getting to the main course, this is the menus that they're going to serve you guys on March. Excited? Here's my review about the food.

I personally like the taste of the classic myun, I feel like eating bolognaise pasta only with different noodle, different meat and spicier, but somehow to be honest I and some bloggers wonder why the boneless cutlet tasted a bit bland, I actually thought it would be a lot crunchier, but maybe they're just making a little mistake while cooking the chicken because mine's not that crunchy, tasted a bit bland and I kinda wish the sauce will be thicker, this is just a feedback from us.

For the myun itself, I absolutely like how it tastes and the texture, good point for that.

Spicy Myun

Okay, I really recommend this to you whom loving the spicy taste for your dish, and I actually go with this one as if you wonder what I'm choosing and recommending you guys, this dish is not spicy spicy, but it's spicy, yeah hopefully you'll understand how I describe the spicy level with one word of 'spicy'..lol. The minced meat at this dish is smaller and almost mixed in with the sauce, you can definitely see the texture of the meat from the classic one from here it looks mixed and more sauce like, and this is the comparison of what I've been talking about.

Left: Spicy Myun, Right: Classic Myun
Can you see how the boneless cutlet cooked differently? The left one also tasted yummier and more well seasoned.

DESSERTS
Mixed Mochi (Vanilla, Mocha, Strawberry)

I'm not giving long comments about these mochis... THEY ARE CRAZY! I just fell in love with them, it's so yummy, tasty and I just love them so so much. You need to try out yourself, when I'm lost for words, that just means so goooood.

Strawberry Snowflakes
Is it a sin to fall in love with the desserts more than the main course? This is totally something that I would recommend you guys having when you pass by and eat at BonChon. OMG how the flakes, the red beans and the ice blends and create this amazing taste in your mouth is just priceless.

Special thanks to BonChon for inviting me to try their new menu, I'm just hoping the best of luck and I think it definitely will be a hit because the new main course is just tasty, you need to try both of it guys :).

and special thanks for this!

It's nice to meet you guys :).
